Routines take effort
Remembering and organizing the steps of an existing care plan can be challenging amid the demands of everyday life.
Care, day by dayA patient-engagement initiative
Diabetes Cost Buster is a proposed digital health initiative exploring practical ways to support health literacy, care organization, and engagement with treatment already prescribed by licensed professionals.
DCB is in the planning stage. It does not provide medical care or replace a healthcare professional.
About DCB
The problem
Living with diabetes can involve many ongoing tasks. People may need to keep track of information, routines, and appointments while balancing everything else in their day.
Remembering and organizing the steps of an existing care plan can be challenging amid the demands of everyday life.
Care, day by dayPeople may look for reliable, understandable information as they navigate questions about their care.
Clarity mattersUseful tools should respect personal choice and complement conversations with a licensed care team.
People stay in controlDCB is being developed as a concept. These challenges describe the motivation for exploration, not measured outcomes of a DCB product.
Our approach
DCB is exploring a simple, non-clinical role: help people stay oriented to the care plan they have already discussed with their licensed professionals.
See the planned next stepsExplore accessible, general information about diabetes, prepared or reviewed by appropriately qualified professionals where needed.
Consider ways to keep personal routines and care-related information easier to organize.
Explore reminders chosen and managed by the user to support a treatment plan prescribed by their care team.
Learn how thoughtful experiences may help people stay connected to their own care journey.
Within scope: education, organization, and engagement. DCB will not diagnose, prescribe, change treatment, or provide individualized clinical advice.

Roadmap
The work ahead is planned as a sequence of learning, validation, and responsible development. Each stage depends on the findings and guidance that come before it.
First · Understand
Define the questions, learn from people and stakeholders, and assess needs before choosing product features.
Then · Shape
Refine the concept, review privacy and regulatory considerations, and determine a responsible path toward an initial product.
Next · Build carefully
If the concept is validated, develop and evaluate a limited prototype with appropriate professional input.
Over time · Learn
Use evidence and feedback to guide any future iteration, with outcomes assessed rather than assumed.
All milestones are prospective. No product, pilot, partnership, or clinical result is represented as existing.
